About Hearts Full of Treasure

Hearts Full of Treasure was founded on a simple but powerful belief: every young person carries a treasure within them;unique gifts, talents, dreams, and the potential to transform their community and the world. Too often, however, poverty, trauma, lack of opportunity, mental health challenges, and limited access to education prevent that potential from being realized. The idea for Hearts Full of Treasure emerged after witnessing the growing struggles faced by children and young people in Uganda. Many were dropping out of school because their families could not afford school fees. Others were battling anxiety, depression, substance abuse, violence, abuse, unemployment, and hopelessness with little access to guidance or professional psychosocial support. Despite these challenges, one truth remained clear: every young person possessed immense value and untapped potential waiting to be discovered. Rather than viewing young people as problems to be solved, the founders chose to see them as leaders, innovators, changemakers, and future nation builders. They believed that when young people are equipped with education, counselling, life skills, mentorship, and opportunities to grow, they become confident individuals capable of creating lasting change in their families and communities.

Inspired by values of love, compassion, integrity, and service, Hearts Full of Treasure was established as a youth-centered organization dedicated to nurturing the whole person. The organization exists to support children and young people through quality education, mental health and psychosocial support, leadership development, career guidance, entrepreneurship, life skills training, and community engagement. What began as a vision to restore hope to vulnerable young people has grown into a movement that empowers youth to discover their purpose and become agents of positive change. Every student who stays in school, every young person who receives counselling, every youth leader who is mentored, and every community initiative led by young people reflects another treasure being uncovered.

Today, Hearts Full of Treasure partners with schools, families, churches, communities, government institutions, and development partners to create safe spaces where young people can thrive academically, emotionally, spiritually, socially, and economically.

Our story continues to be written through every life transformed, every dream restored, and every young person empowered to believe in themselves and pursue a brighter future. At Hearts Full of Treasure, we believe that when young people discover the treasure within themselves, they do more than change their own lives;they inspire hope, strengthen communities, and shape the future of the nation.
